New Day

June 2, 2016
Been awhile since I did a blog.  Life for me has continued on.  I am suffering from Asbestosis and for the past couple of years have been unable to attend to my musical life.  My lungs are in a severe state due to scarring, but I have had a couple of things happen that have given me a beautiful break from all that.  My daughter came in from the UK for a visit, it was so good to spend some quiet time together.  Next time we won't tell a soul & will drive out of town as soon as she arrives.  We liked that father/daughter time together.  I also recently asked my son to take me to my birth state, Wyoming.  We went to Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Sturgis, Casper, Devils Tower, Yellowstone and of course the Rockies.  A wonderful trip and country I had not seen in decades.  Sure looks like corporate America has had it's way with the family farms, there is a bunch of growth throughout the  region, I think mining and working for corporation farming must be what's keeping it together.  Real friendly folks on there though, we met some great characters out there on the road.  Be kind to each other and do something good for yourself.  Keep watching out, if I can figure out how to accomplish live performance again, I'll be out there doing what I do.

Back To Life

July 20, 2015
It has been some time since I posted on this web site.  For me it's been an itch I could not scratch due to one circumstance or another.   Actually it has been a two and half year struggle to regain my health, parts on me are beginning to wear out.  I have a short schedule playing music over the next month or so, hopefully it can grow a bit.  Right now I am content to be out playing a bit, working on my home and being with kids and grand children.

I need to thank some folks that have been so...

HOLIDAYS

December 16, 2013
Tis the season once again, here's wishing you all the best for the coming days as well as the New Year.

It's been a good year full of life, some good things have occurred  - some interesting things have happened personally and musically.  Through it all I have had the pleasure of meeting so many folks at the venues I am fortunate to work and still very pleased I get to continue the path musically.   This year I also got a wonder visit from my daughter & my grand children, which is a rare treat...

WINTER

September 23, 2013
We had a great summer in the Pacific Northwest, with the rains and wind now coming more often, winter is coming our way.  This summer I got to spend time with my daughter, Kara & her children, my grandson, Ethan & grand daughter, Pyper as well as my son, Derek and his daughter, Skye.  Skye and I were to go see Taylor Swift in late August, but due to me old leg I had to forgo the show.  She had a wonderful time, and that's what being a grandpa is all about.  My flowers were fantastic this year...

SUMMER

July 9, 2013
Summer is really happening in the Pacific Northwest, I can not remember a fourth of July without at least a sprinkle, but this year it was beautiful.

Life on the Hood Canal is busy, I have been working on my home and garden, love the flowers.  My daughter is coming for a three week visit with my grand children, so it was time to remodel the half bath and spruce up the house, so I have scaled back performance a bit so I could get my knuckles scraped, fingers hit with the hammer and tested my ...

Weatherman

March 17, 2013
You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind is blowin'.  Seems as if  I've heard that somewhere before.

Times change, season's change and minds change.  The constant is the desire to keep on keeping on, and so it goes.

Due to an operation I had to cancel my first gig in all the years that I have been attempting to play music.  Me eyes were failing me, but now about to go under the knife for the second time this month, I'm told that I will have much better sight.  I have been missing ...

SPRING

February 25, 2013
The weather in the Pacific Northwest is still bristling with nips of cold and damp, but there's no way around it, spring is on it's way with days gaining light and the grass is beginning to grow, which of course means we're all headed back to mowing.  To be honest I love working about in my yard, or garden as they say in the UK.  Gigs are beginning to happen a bit with the advent of the new year and I have to get busy finding new ways to get out there so the music and players get heard.  Spea...

New Year

December 27, 2012

2012 is about to leave us, the end of the world did not occur, which is really good for my schedule. It was a great year of playing music with mates: Keith Pasculli, Lance DeMers, Steve Harrold & Christine Salazar. It has also been a great year for my family, here's wishing you and yours also had a great year.

The year has been difficult for all of us with the current global financial situation, I know many who are suffering due to unemployment or housing difficulties due to the break down i...

Home and Hearth

September 19, 2012

This summer has been a busy time, more with working on my home than anything, but have kept plugging away at the music also.  Just started pre-production for Christine Salazar's new CD and feel excited and honored to be working with such a gifted artist once again.

I am writing for a new project and have recieved a tune from good friend Brian Cutler that I will be trying on for size for the new work.

It's a bit unsettling for us here in the Pacific Northwest as we have had a very dry warm ...

Summer

July 6, 2012

While the rest of the country seems to be burning, the Pacific Northwest has just started it's summer.  I am getting more done on my home than with my music right now, but I am also writing for the next project and that requires time also.  The LP I produced for Christine Salazar is getting some notice, she just claimed entry in the Tumbleweed song contest with, "Anyway".  I am also scheculed to play the festival this year, which should be a great time.

Here's wishing you all a great summer, r...
